See, 'cause here's the deal: It's hard to stay depressed for too long when all you have to do is rest your hand on the right side of your ever-expanding abdomen for a brief moment before a foot (or a hand, or an elbow or a knee--it's still hard to say) rises up to greet you and give you through-the-skin eskimo kisses of a sort.
Because when that happens, everything else just sort-of disappears. No--really.
Carla and my mom threw a baby shower for us on Saturday. Thirty women, trays of tea sandwiches, lots of punch, and a truly wonderful afternoon! I feel very, very blessed. There are wonderful people in my life. And Will is now the teeny owner of a ton of really cool stuff, including a Lulu the Lamb rocker, a new crib, a gigantic basket of books, a slew of baby toys, an entire wardrobe of clothes and shoes (what is it about baby shoes? They're just so damn cute), and an inflatable rubber duckie tub that quacks when you squeeze its beak. This afternoon, I have many, many thank you's to write.
On an up note, my mom sold her house, so we're one step closer to home. On a down note, the open house at the Condo on Sunday yielded nothing. I'm not sure what we're going to do if it doesn't sell soon. We'll end up with two mortgages and no jobs at this rate, but I'm trying not to worry about it.
Trying is a good word...
