So I talked to Andrea today.
Andrea is the EAP counselor. Her office is between my apartment and the hospital. I pass it on my way to work every day.
I have my first meeting with her next Thursday morning at 8. I�ll come in a couple hours late, work through lunch to make up for it.
EAP will cover this visit. She�s in my insurance plan, though, so if I like her, and it goes well, she�ll stay mine.
It was funny. She said to me, �I have all your information, but not how soon you wanted to be seen. I couldn�t do it this week.� I laughed and told her that was fine, that it wasn�t like I was sitting in my cube, ready to slit my wrists.
I guess we find humor where we can.
I haven�t told either my mom or the Boyfriend that I�m going yet. Plenty of time to share the news this weekend. I don�t particularly want to get into it with Betsy, who will go on and on and on about how wonderful it is. Yeah, whatever, Betsy. No one wants to hear it.
A while back, I set up a wedding webpage as part of theknot.com. It�s sort-of silly, but fun, with details about the wedding, and who is in it, and where it is, and where we registered, and all sorts of stuff like that. The last page is a guestbook, where people who visit the site can leave comments. (and yes, it's passworded, but if any of y'all are really curious, email me and I might share it. So you can laugh at my wedding dorkiness, too.)
I sent the address out to the wedding party and a few of the guests last week. The Boyfriend must have forwarded it on to his mom, because she left a comment in the guestbook today. It reads as follows:

Message: Can't believe the time is here for my "baby", my "first born" to be married. Where did all those years go and so fast. BUT, I'm excited about the prospects of the family growing!!!! Little ones to play with again - YES!!! I pray and trust that God will be THE partner in your marriage/relationship to help you grow in healthy ways, your love and relationship together. I like what I see in the "blossoming" of your relationship - keep up the good work and don't ever be afraid to get help if you feel you could use some - it may save the "day". Anyway�
Saturday is the Boyfriend�s birthday. She�s having a brunch for him to which she�s invited the free world. It will be interesting to see how it goes. Perhaps she�ll make it through the day without telling anyone that I�m stealing her son. Perhaps I�ll make it through the day without shoving her face into the punch bowl. It all remains to be seen.

Actually, it should be a nice weekend. Other than the brunch, we�ve got fun things planned. Mom and I are going to a bridal brunch at the Gambel Mansion, run by the Boston Center for Adult Education. The Boyfriend and I are meeting wit Rev. Doug to discuss the ceremony. I�m going to buy new sneakers. We�re going to try to take a walk. And we just might manage to spend a little time alone.
It could happen.
I have high hopes.
