Back in the saddle again

Adopt a Soldier!

I hate coming back after only a couple days out of the office. If Im gone for a full week, people find other answers to their questions. If Im only gone for a couple days, they figure they can wait that long and just leave it all for me. Its taken me all day to get the pile off my desk, and I had payroll to do this morning. Whine, whimper, whimper, whine. Stop that, Jennifer

So we had a really good time in Toronto. Its a nice city to walk in. The Boyfriend got a little nervous walking down Yonge Street, past the sex shops and girlie movie theaters interspersed with the shoe stores and Timothys Coffees, but I ignored him. I was on a quest to hit every Lush store in the city. I came close to succeeding. Yep, I came home with enough bath products to frighten the Boyfriend good and proper. I have enough bath bombs to last me a long time. He didnt understand the appeal of buying them now, until I explained the cost of shipping those babies to the US. He eventually saw the wisdom in my stocking up. Either that, or he got tired of my not listening and just shut up.

The salesgirl in the first Lush store gave us samples and freebies, which was cool. She stuck a bag with two Humdinger bath bombs in with our stuff. We used one of them at the hotel after wed been walking all day. Public service announcement for the trip: Two people will fit in a hotel bathtub, but only if they really like each other. And they dont care if the floor gets wet in the process. I would hate to have been in our adjoining bathroom!

Truthfully, it wasnt a real eventful trip. Mostly, we just walked around and took in the city. And we talked. A lot. It amazes me sometimes that we have anything left to talk about, but we manage. I didnt even hate him when we got home yesterday, and we drove for 1200 miles between Thursday and Sunday. I dont ever want to get into the car again, but I still like the Boyfriend. This is a good thing.

I, of course, came home with a cold. I think this is the 12th time Ive been sick this winter (please come soon, Spring. Ill give you a dollar.). Last night, I was stuffy and miserable. We sat on the Boyfriends couch, ate pizza and watched the Series premiere of Doc on PAX, starring Billy Ray Cyrus and his mullet. Very, very scary. It was about all I could handle intellectually yesterday, though, between the head stuffiness and the six and a half hours in the car. It would be a much better show if hed just cut his hair.

I came in this morning to over 100 emails, one of which was show information for the Artboys band. Thanks to him, Ive had AC DC in my head all day. Not sure how I feel about that. In my Nyquil-induced foggy sleep last night, I dreamed that the Boyfriend and I got home from our trip to find an article in The Boston Globe about Diaryland and my diary. I was less-than-thrilled, and complained to the Artboy about it. Hed been interviewed by the paper and had told them all about my writing. Also, there was an extremely pornographic entry in my diary that the Globe reprinted part of. He couldnt understand why I was upset. It was a very strange dream. Like I said, I blame it on the Nyquil.

I havent had a chance to catch up on anyone elses diaries yet, so I dont know what good things happened in the D-land world while I was gone. It felt strange to not write anything for so many days in a row. I missed you, Diaryland!

Oh, and thanks to the UU.net person who emailed meits nice to know whom Im sharing my life with!
