Yes, I already put one entry up here today, but Craige commented on it and I wanted to answer her question.
The Husband and I started dating right after Memorial Day 1998. We were together for six months. Halloween night, he showed up on my doorstep dressed as a moose, intent on taking me to dinner. Instead, I broke up with him. The aftermath of that little scene and the reasoning behind it were the reasons I started this diary in the first place, almost four years ago.
If you want to know the history, it's written here. I don't know that I can rewrite it all. The nickel version--Before the Husband was the Boyfriend, Part 1, there was the Artboy. Then there was the Artboy again. Then came the Husband, Part 2.
Those ex-boyfriends will getcha every time. But I got a good piece of advice once--if they become exes once, there was probably a good enough reason for it that they'll become exes again.
Well, except in the Husband's case, of course. But I told him that Halloween night that I didn't know what would happen, but that I needed to settle one thing in my life before I could truly start another.
I'm not sorry it happened. It made me certain. But I'm glad I made the choice I made.
